Ashesi University will by the end of 2016 receive a Presidential Charter and be given full independence. This will mean from the year 2017, Ashesi University will not be supervised by an older university.
This was made known to the school by the Deputy Minister of Education, Hon. Okudzato Ablakwa.

I have listened to Dr. Patrick Awuah Jr., the Founder and President of Ashesi University on how left a mighty brand as MicroSoft to pursue the dream of Ashesi University.
How challenging and frustrating it was and yet his personal believe and personal brand focus pursue; has shot the school to her current position.

That confidence is very expensive and valuable.

I have never heard Dr. Awuah speaking on some radio station in the rural area which doesn't understand his language. He took command of his market and dominated with his thought and appeal. 3. Your personal brand must communicate what makes you different. 
When musicians like Okyeame Kwame and Manifest returned from Ashesi University on a visit, they all posted they comments. Interestingly, they both made reference to one simple fact. "The way the students think".
They both expressed sincere respect to how in depth and informed these students are. Okyeame further said these students are too smart and intelligent.
